A protest is planned outside where anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan will speak today.

Sheehan’s presentation, also featuring retired Lt. Col. Bob Bowman, is at 7 p.m. at Brunswick Community College’s Odell Williamson Auditorium. Starting at 6 p.m., retired educator Christy Judah will organize a demonstration on the lawn in front of the venue.

“She is anti-war, anti-military, according to her own previous actions,” Judah has said of Sheehan. “I just want to make sure those entering the building know there are people with a different view.”

Sheehan, whose son Casey died in Iraq in 2004, is perhaps best known for camping out by then-President George Bush’s Texas ranch in 2005, demanding to know the war’s purpose. She said she is not against the troops but against the way they’re used for “war profiteering” by the government and corporations.
